The following information (we hope) will give everyone all the relevant details for our events in 2023:
1. AGE GROUPS:
U21 (Max 6 Players per event)
U14 (15 Places ring-fenced)
U12 (Max of 6 Players per event)
***U12’s will ONLY PLAY 36 holes, 18 holes per day. They will be encouraged to play from the Mens front tees; they will have their own “mini-event” and it will count for handicaps.

2. SGL VOUCHERS will be paid for all sections
3. ENTRY FEES: £37.50 per player per event
* any player whose Home Club is the Host Venue: £15 per player
** any siblings: £25 per sibling per event
4. NO FOOD will be provided or paid for by the Junior Tour
5. ALL EVENTS will count towards WAGR & EGR
6. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES: An event by event breakdown has already been posted on our social media platforms
7. BALLOTS: At some events a handicap ballot may be necessary; these handicap ballots will be based on each Age Group and Current Handicap Indexes, AND WILL BE CHECKED; PLAYERS WITH MORE COMPETITION SCORES AND PREVIOUS JUNIOR TOUR PLAYING HISTORY, WILL TAKE PRECEDENCE. Parents are therefore advised to only “provisionally book” accommodation etc until the draws/entries have been confirmed
8. PARENTS/SUPPORTERS: We actively encourage supporters at our events, and please continue to allow the players to concentrate/play without interference
9. JT OoM: everyone has been sent an email with full details of the criteria
10. GRAND FINAL and TEAM MATCH V MADRID GOLF FEDERATION: within the email pertaining to the OoM, full details of the Grand Final and Team Match are enclosed therein.
The Junior Tour Team reserves the authority to amend any of the aforementioned conditions if deemed appropriate.
HOT OFF THE PRESS – 2023 DATES AND VENUES
Due to the high number of enquiries we have listed details for 2023.
From Monday the 17th October to Thursday the 20th October we will be releasing full details of each and every event – 2 per day. This will hopefully allow everyone to prepare well in advance of next season.
Full details of our OoM Final at Golfe Clube Santander, Madrid, will be released W/C 31 October.
We are also delighted to inform you that 4 more Ambassadors will be announced prior to the 2023 season and they will join forces with our current Ambassadors to represent the Junior Tour far and wide.

The Foursomes played today resulted in a 4 – 0 lead for the Junior Tour Team leading into tomorrow’s singles. The conditions were a test to both teams with a strong wind blowing and a drop in the recent temperature.
The Junior Tour has a team playing against youngsters from Madrid this weekend at the fabulous Renaissance Club in East Lothian.

2023 DATES AND VENUES:
There is high demand for information on next year’s events to be published. Please ignore any previous details, as we’ve had to change a couple of things through no fault of our own.
The following list is now confirmed, set in stone and will not change.
1st April: Golspie (36 holes) & 2nd April: Royal Dornoch (Championship Course) (18 holes). Our first 54 hole event over 2 courses.
6th & 7th May: Cruden Bay
20th & 21st May: Portpatrick (Dunskey)
8th & 9th July: Arbroath
26th & 27th July: Royal Aberdeen
19th & 20th August: Royal Musselburgh
2nd & 3rd September: Gourock
23rd & 24th September: Elgin
OoM Final and Team Match vs Madrid Golf Federation to be played at Golfe Clube de Santander -Madrid. Qualifying criteria and confirmed details will follow in the near future.
ALL our events in 2023 will be 54 holes. Information regarding individual events, relating to tee times, which day 36 holes will be played, and practice round availability etc will be posted once final arrangements are agreed with all the venues.
While it all may seem a long way away – it hopefully will keep everyone focused on what lies ahead for the Junior Tour in 2023.
OoM Grand Final: St. Andrews (Jubilee): 8th and 9th October 2022
All the qualifiers will be invited to participate via an email to be sent out by close of play tomorrow (7th September). This will be sent to the players email address that we use for the SG App/Scoring etc. Please check junk/spam folders as well.
Replies are required by 6.00 pm on Monday 19th September.
A reminder will be sent out on Friday the 16th September at midday to anyone who has not replied.
NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION WILL BE SENT THEREAFTER; ANYONE WHO HAS NOT REPLIED BY THE 19TH SEPTEMBER WILL BE DEEMED TO BE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE EVENT.
Any spare slots will then be offered to other players in the respective age groups.
The final will comprise of 8 players from the Boys Under 18’s, Under 16’s, Under 14’s and Girls Under 18’s (Gross) section Orders of Merits; they will be joined by 4 Girls Under 18’s (Net) section. They will all be joined by 6 further players, either from the Madrid Golf Federation, or Junior Tour invites.
The full field will comprise 42 players – tee times on each day will be from 10.00 am to 11.44 am. Players will play in 3-balls and the draw for the Sunday will be made at the conclusion of play on the Saturday.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE MANY PLAYERS ON THE RESERVE LIST WHO WILL GLADLY TAKE A SPOT THAT BECOMES AVAILABLE – THAT’S WHY IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL PLAYERS WHO RECEIVE AN EMAIL REPLY BY THE STATED DEADLINE – WHETHER IT BE A ‘YES’ OR A ‘NO’.
We look forward to a fantastic Final event which will bring the curtain down on a fabulous 2022 season.
Our 36 Hole Junior Tour event has a later start today at the wonderful Murcar Links GC. Our players will be tested by this challenging links course.

We have a flat calm morning here in Brora for our Junior Tour 54 hole event this weekend. There are a few midge’s about – but hopefully this will not put our players off playing this fabulous course.
